We were lucky to meet Basti Grub. During his preparation to perform at Colosseum Club, we could get words from him about music.
In your Soundcloud, you've don many remixes. What is your consideration to choose a song to be remix?
If I like the original song it doesn't matter whether the song is fast or slow I just have to connect to it in a sense of it being somewhat special.
What song that you think was the hardest one to be remix and why?
When I remixed one of my own tracks "Mirando El Sol" I had a hard time because the original version was exactly what I wanted it to be and still I felt like doing a club mix. So the obstacle I had overcome was to remix something with an already perfected sound that had my own handwriting on it.
What was your craziest gig ever and why?
Actually there are a few that deserve to be named. Fusion 2014 was pretty wild because I played in front of 25.000 people that were on fire. My tour through Latin America was crazy not only because of the gigs. Once during a three day Festival in Vina del Mar in Chile I played a live set for 5 hours straight - an easy job when the crowd really feels your sound. My Japan tour was also exciting. Being here in Jakarta and playing at Colosseum so far from where I come feels just as crazy if I sit back and think about it.
What is your advice for people out there who wants to be in the business?
If you really want it then let no one stop you from doing what you destined to do. If a label rejects you take it as a motivation to continue.
Who is your inspiration to do this career?
The music itself inspired and still inspires me to do what I do. I started quite early and once I had developed a taste for it I simply got drawn in deeper and deeper to the extent that I knew this is what I want to spend my time with doing.
