On 27 April 2017, we were invited to SHVR Ground Festival press conference at Colosseum Club. HYPE Music Asia as promoter wanted to give some update about the Coolest Dance Music Festival. For its second edition, SHVR Ground Festival 2017 carried a theme “Tokyo Night Out”. For this press conference, 6 speakers present to explained about the preparation. There were Darshan Pridhnani (CEO of HYPE Music Asia), Christian Soeseno (Managing Director of HYPE Music Asia), Dino Hamid (CEO of Berlian Entertainment), Michael Boston (Director of Favum Communicatio), Baskaries Ibrata (Generation-G) and Arifin Wibowo (Generation-G). They gave sneak peek about what can we expect from the festival. Darshan started the press conference by explaining about the festival itself, emphasized about the international and local line-up that made Generation-G excited. Christian also added about the stages in the festival, Frozen Empire Stage for outdoor and Urban Shinjuku Stage for indoor. The Urban Shinjuku Stage itself dedicated to Trance act. For line-up selection, they considered the fan base and the music trends in Indonesia. The dedicated stage for Trance because in Indonesia the genre itself thriving and gained big support from the fans. Michael Boston of Favum Communicatio explained about the ambience the festival offer to festival goers. The festival will go all out with the theme, starting from the gate along the way until the stages area. Lots of activities can be done by festival goers. Areas that caught our attention are MAGGERLAND and FUJI GARDEN. Maggerland is an area where Generation-G can relax and take a break from intense dance. The word was inspired from Indonesian slang words MAGER or Malas Gerak, meaning too lazy to move. This area located at Urban Shinjuku Area. Other area is Fuji Garden. It’s playground area where Generation-G can play the slide from top of the Fuji Garden. Dino Hamid from Berlian Entertainment explained that SHVRG Ground Festival 2017 is the first festival that limited their tickets, only 15,000 tickets provided. So far already 70 percent tickets sold and counting. According to Dino, Generation-G is the main star of the night. With the dress code Harajuku Style, Generation-G can express themselves with Harajuku-inspired style. It will be Tokyo Night Out experience.
Baskaries Ibrata and Arifin Wibowo from Generation-G explained that their support to SHVR Ground Festival 2017 is their response to the enthusiasm for dance music festival in Indonesia. That’s why Generation-G agreed to be sponsor for the festival. Prior to SHVR Ground Festival 2017, there are series of roadshow in several cities in Indonesia to bring the experience closer to Generation-G outside Jakarta. One of the purpose for the roadshow is to support local talent all over Indonesia. The festival will provide wish list, which DJ that Generation-G want to see.
