Each year, Indonesia become host for various event in EDM. Each year we have Djakarta Warehouse Project. This year we also witness returning festival like Ultra Bali or Invasion. Not to mention a debut from ShiverinG Ground Music Festival.
With all these festivals coming right under our nose, how come we're not tempted to come? Common issue that always rise is about ticket price. We would like to share some tips with you!
1. Saving the money
Yes, this is probably the most cliche tips, but it never old. You should save some money for attending the music festivals, at least one year prior the festival. For recurring festivals, such as DWP, we already predict that the event will take place on December each year. You should be able to save from December previous year until a month before DWP. Always add 10% more from the ticket price previous year to anticipate the inflation.
2. Quiz Hunter 
When a festival is announce, there will be various giveaway tickets from sponsors. Follow their accounts at Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Participate in every competition. Who knows, you will get more than 3 tickets from different sponsors. We know someone who always go to music festival for free. Just because he always follow every giveaways available for festival. The result, he won each and every giveaways out there.
No pain, no gain! 3. Working with the organizers 
If you can't come from the outside, why can't you attend the festival from the inside?
Music festival is a big deal. Involving hundreds of people in process. The organizer usually hires people to work inside the festival. That's why they have recruitment looking for volunteers or even interns. Pay attention to the organizer website about the recruitment so you can apply. If you're lucky, you will be experience the music festival as the insider! 4. Mention the artist

Believe it or not, you can get the ticket by mentioning the artist! This was happened during DWP14 where DVBBS gave tickets to lucky fans. It was uproar in Twitter and everybody couldn't believe that DVBBS gave tickets. All because one fan mentioned them asking for ticket, which happily DVBBS gave it.
We know it will be rare occasion. Even if the artist states online to give you the ticket, there will be 50-50 chance you couldn't get the ticket due to the hectic schedule before perform. If the artist gave the ticket, you have the obligation to come and show respect by thank them, at least online. Show the artist that you didn't put the ticket to waste. 5. Find secondary seller 
This is probably not recommended by the organizer. Since it is prone to fraud. However, if you look carefully, you will found trusted secondary seller that allows you to buy in installment. It will cost you more than USD10-15 more than normal price, but you will get the ticket for sure.
We recommend you to find EDM community for this method. Last year we bought the DWP15 ticket from EDM Ravers ID with 4 months installment. We got the bracelet intact. Hopefully you can get the same opportunity like we did for this year. 6. Lots of promotion package 
You can use promotional offers from various merchant. For example, credit card offers. Usually the organizer cooperate with certain bank for special offers, for example installment payment. The tenure starts at 3 months until 12 months. Just find the info about the offer and don't let it to waste.
The organizer also create special promotion for those of you who registered your email to their website. These registered users will get early access to buy ticket with special price. Make sure you register yourself to receive this special promotion. 7. Someone give it to you 
Well, this is probably will make you as the luckiest person in the planet. Believe it or not, there is someone who randomly gives you their ticket. Usually this person has to cancel in the last minute and don't have time to sell the ticket. So they will give the ticket for free. Seriously.
Probably you can get the ticket from your friend who wins many tickets from various giveaway contests. If they are kind enough, they will give you the ticket for free. They will give one ticket for free and sell the rest to the public. In other case, you can receive the ticket from someone who works in media. We have one friend who received DWP14 ticket Day 2 from our fellow reporter. The condition was simple, just tweet and mention the media by showing the ticket. Once in a lifetime chance!
