We were so lucky to talked with Rodg about his album 'High On Life'. We sat down with him after his performance at Colosseum Club. Rodg was so excited to talk about his latest album.
Your latest album, High On Life, we felt that the mood of the entire album fit the title.
That’s the whole spirit behind it. High on life, just enjoying things in life. That’s basically the idea for the album.
What’s the most difficult track in the album?
The most difficult track is definitely the track ‘High On Life’. If I listen to it, I thought “Oh my God, can I have this idea for 15 times more?” and any other thoughts (laughed). All the records in the album, it was kind of float out of me. While I was producing it, it just happened.
What is your craziest gig ever?
My craziest gig ever? Difficult question (laughed). One of the craziest was absolutely playing in Mexico for A State Of Trance (ASOT) last October 2015. I was the first DJ on the stage. The music was still off and the people already waiting for me to start. In 10 minutes of the beginning of my set is already packed. Even in the airport people already waiting for me with the flag and stuffs. That was really crazy.
You have collaborated with many artists. Personally, which one is your favorite collaboration?
I think it would be Ruben De Ronde. I’ve made a couple of records with Ruben. Whenever we started working on something, I know it’s gonna be good. I start making music or Ruben start to making music, when we got stuck, we’re changing ideas.
Where you got the inspiration for making a track?
It’s a difficult question (laughed). I always looking for some kind of feeling in a record. The inspiration could be from travelling, from amazing shows I’ve played, but also enjoying life. Enjoying time with friends and family. Just be at home with my cats. That’s definitely gives me inspiration. Summer also gives me inspiration, like sunshine, beach life.
For the rest of 2016, what will be your plan?
I look forward for releasing my album. I’m happy already being on my ‘High On Life’ tour. Just like my album’s title, I feel high on life. To see people go crazy with music I made in studio. For the rest 2016, I will continue go to amazing places and share my music.
