Rain poured heavily that day and I was stuck at the office, couldn’t buy something to lunch. While waiting for the rain to quit, I opened my inbox and read an interesting email about artist named TÂCHES. This Los Angeles-based producer just released debut EP called “To Move Mountains”.
I was curious how the sound will like. I opened the Spotify of TÂCHES. The EP, that was released under the label called Glitter Cowboy, consists of 3 songs.
When the first song “I Still Think About You” was played, I feel at ease. Cool weather, sound from rain outside, complement the song. I can imagine myself to dance with the melody. The music really asked you to free yourself and not to give in to the negativity. Ah, I think I’m in melancholy mood.
The second song is “No Bailes Sola” had intense mood than the previous one. It’s like that the song was made under sad situation. The mood is deep but not fall under ‘dark’ category. Was it made me stress? On the contrary, the song suitable for self-reflect. Again, I think it’s because of the rain.
The last song is “Unrequited Love Affair”. From the title you may guess. The song will talk about one-sided love. The melody, like I predicted, a bit sad and very melancholy. I think, this can be suitable theme song for someone with unrequited love. Someone who can only hope that the other will share same feeling. The vocal itself added more sadness to the atmosphere of the song.
I thought these feelings came up because of rain. Some people said that rain reveals the melancholy side of you. Few days after that, I listened the EP again when it was hot outside my office. Turns out, this EP can serve as your relaxation song, especially in gruelling work report I had that day.
TÂCHES is great at producing music with Balearic soul. Probably because he stayed at Mallorca long enough to shape his music inspiration. Even his remixes share the same mood and atmosphere. For me, no matter the theme of the song, TÂCHES will always make it romantic.
I suggest to listening this album when the rain is pouring, like I did. It really takes you to a moment where you reflect to your own life. Not to feel sorry towards it, but to be grateful and learn something from it.
This album also suitable for some alone time. When you don’t want to be bother with any noise and want to be in your own zone, plug your ears with headphone and play this EP. You can also play it as background music when you’re reading a book.
